In reply to Christine. If you received a text or email from your friend requesting money, it is likely that there is someone impersonating them. If it is someone you have never met in real life, they could be a scammer. However, if you do know this person, I would talk to them over the phone first and verify the account number before generously sending any money.

My friend is in Zimbabwe. He gave me his Arizona Chase Routing number, account number and pin. He needs money transferred to him from that account. But says there is no money in it. Needs me to transfer my money to him. Is this even his account?
